If you’ve been experiencing pain while chewing or dealing with a severe toothache, a root canal procedure may be the solution to save your tooth!

Discovering a tooth with a diseased nerve might have meant its loss in the past. Today, at BLVD Dentistry & Orthodontics, root canal treatment can rescue that tooth. The procedure is generally straightforward and typically requires three visits or fewer to our office.

Indications that you may need a root canal include pain during chewing or when pressure is applied, a severe toothache, dark discoloration of the tooth, prolonged sensitivity to temperatures, and tenderness and swelling in the surrounding gums. It’s important to note, though, that not all teeth requiring root canal therapy exhibit pain.

During a root canal treatment at BLVD Dentistry & Orthodontics, a dentist will remove the affected tissue. Following this, the interior of the tooth is thoroughly cleaned and sealed, and the tooth is filled with dental composite. In cases of extensive decay, your dentist might recommend placing a crown on the tooth to provide protection and reinforcement against breakage.

With proper care for your restored tooth, it can last indefinitely!

Maintain the health and pain-free status of your smile by incorporating routine root canal procedures into your dental care routine.
